EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT

Educational Assessment

Do you know what your child’s present academic levels really are?  Report cards only tell part of the story.  WEG can help you gain objective academic data to make the best determinations about your child’s education.

WEG’s comprehensive academic assessments provide essential academic information to the parents and school teams. Using both formal and informal assessments, we determine present levels of academic performance in the following areas:

  • Reading, including phonological awareness, phonics, decoding, comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary;

  • Mathematics, including calculation, problem solving, and fluency; and

  • Written Expression, including output, mechanics, syntax, and encoding.

Each of our experienced assessors are certified by multiple publishers and have worked in the field of special education for over 20 years. Jennifer Engel Fisher and Amy Mounce perform the majority of assessments. Scheduling typically occurs within two weeks.

We believe all students should be able to access this service as well as our other advocacy services and are proud to offer sliding scale fees for families who qualify.
